APC To Establish National Institute For Progressive Studies — Ganduje

By Aisha Musa, Abuja

Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC, has said that the ruling party would establish a National Institute of Progressive Studies as part of its new initiatives in 2024.

He disclosed this while speaking with State House Correspondents after a visit of the APC National Working Committee, NWC, to President Bola Tinubu on Thursday in Lagos.

Mr Ganduje said that the institute would serve as a platform to enshrine the tenets of democratic system among party members and the citizens.

“The establishment of National Institute of Progressive Studies is to enlighten our members, even members of the public, on the doctrine of democracy, on the issues of internal democracy, issues of avoiding hate speeches, and also issues of abiding by the rules of the law pertaining to election and other processes.

“So, you can see that this institution will work with the government in terms of coming up with appropriate policies that are conducive for democracy,” he said.

Mr Ganduje also revealed that the party would embark on e-registration of both old and new members in order to have a data bank for effective management of the party issues.

The APC national chairman said that Nigerians would enjoy more dividends of democracy in the coming years of the new administration of Tinubu and his cabinet members.

“Nigerians should expect more from the government of the federation and the APC as an institution.

“You have seen how we have started forging ahead in order to increase the coverage of the party in terms of having more states for the party, more members of National Assembly, state assemblies, and we are continuing to do that.”

He said that the NWC members were in the president’s Lagos residence to felicitate with him on the Christmas festivity and to condole him on the death of two of its members.

“We are here in order to share the joy of Christmas and also the joy of the New Year 2024.

“Also to condole the President on the death of two political giants; that is Governor of Ondo state and also the former speaker, National Assembly Ghali Na’Abba in Abuja, and also to congratulate him for his achievement so far in managing the affairs of this country,” Mr Ganduje said.
