Bandit Ambush Security Operatives in Zamfara, Kill 10
By Hussaini Ibrahim
Bandit successfully ambushed and killed security operatives in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State, following a successful raid on a bandit hideout in Sunke Forest.
The attack occurred yesterday after a joint security task force, including personnel from the Nigerian Army and other operatives, stormed the bandit camp, eliminating a significant number of criminals and recovering a large cache of weapons.
However, as the security forces were returning from the operation, they were ambushed by gunmen in Bagega, leading to the tragic loss of six soldiers and four vigilante members. Their funeral was conducted this morning.
Reports indicate that three individuals remain missing—two soldiers and one vigilante member.
In response to the attack, the Zamfara State Government has directed the immediate provision of emergency assistance to the wounded and urgent support for the families of the deceased.
On behalf of the state government, prayers have been offered for the souls of the fallen heroes, recognizing their sacrifice in protecting their communities.
The government also expressed hope for an end to insecurity in Zamfara, the North, and Nigeria at large.
