Borno Attorney-General reaches out to Maiduguri flood victims

As part of their support to communities affected by the devastating flood that ravaged, Maiduguri Metropolis and it’s environs , the Borno State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Hauwa Abubakar and her associates have distributed food and non food items to those affected by the flood.
The items were distributed to 200 individuals which comprises men, women, and disabled persons and other vulnerable person’s
Presenting the relief items to the victims in Jere on Wednesday, Barrister Hauwa Abubakar said “We are committed to continue our support to those affected and are undergoing recovery. We hope this gesture will bring some relief and comfort to the affected families as they begin to rebuild their lives.”
“We extend our deepest gratitude to the Borno State Government and all those who contributed. Let’s continue to stand together as a community, offering hope and support in times of adversity.”, She said.
According to her,it has been a challenging time but through combined efforts, her team was able to reach out to the most vulnerable persons in these communities.
Items distributed included a bags of rice, mats, insecticide-treated mosquito nets, clothes, blankets, and plastic buckets among others to help ease the hardship faced by the victims.
Similarly, the Honourable Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice who is also a peace ambassador has presented some contributions in collaboration with the CEO of Dark Green Leaves Initiative centre.
The items presented includes
500 bags of rice, 500 pieces of Blankets, 500 pieces of Wrappers .
She urged peace ambassadors to support the centre in the distribution of humanitarian support for those affected by the recent flood disaster in Borno State.
“Currently, we have the following consumable and non-consumable items available for distribution.Ten irrigation kits donated by Kickstart Africa and Ambassador Ademola Festus. There is also an additional two kits purchased by Ambassador my humble self, Hauwa Abubakar and PACH.Ten packages of dignity kits, mosquito coils, and used clothes from Ambassador Usman Aliyu, she added.
