Borno Flood Victims Receive Relief worth millions of Naira as ECWA Foundation Provides Holistic Support

In a heartwarming display of solidarity and compassion, the ECWA Foundation for Wholistic Care has delivered relief to victims of the recent flooding in Maiduguri, Borno State. The devastating floods have left many families without shelter, food, and basic necessities, prompting the foundation to take action.
At a ceremony attended by distinguished guests, community members, and ECWA officials, David Adamu Gyet, Coordinator/CEO of EFWC, emphasized the importance of providing comprehensive support to those in need. “Our actions today reflect our commitment to standing by our fellow human beings in times of crisis and helping them rebuild their lives with dignity and hope,” he said.
The ECWA Foundation for Wholistic Care is an evangelical church organization dedicated to addressing the spiritual, emotional, physical, and social needs of individuals. By offering holistic care, the foundation seeks to promote overall well-being and help individuals grow in faith, experience healing, find community support, and live more abundant lives.
As part of its mission to alleviate human challenges, the foundation has identified key areas of focus, including poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace, justice, good health, quality education, gender equality, and decent work.
In his remarks, Gyet urged the community to stand together in supporting the flood victims. “Let us stand together, shoulder to shoulder, as we extend our support to the victims of the flood in Maiduguri. Together, we can make a difference and bring hope to those who need it the most.”
The relief effort is a testament to the foundation’s commitment to providing wholistic care and support to those affected by the floods. As the community comes together to rebuild and recover, the ECWA Foundation for Wholistic Care remains dedicated to helping those in need.
In his speech also, ECWA Assistant General Secretary (AGS), Rev. Dr. Sunday Congo, appreciated God for the flood victims survivors and described it a miracle that deserves praises to God.
“I stand before you today with to thank God for your survival from the recent flooding that has devastated your homes and livelihoods. The impact of this disaster has been profound, leaving many families without shelter, food, and basic necessities.
“As we gather here to deliver relief to the victims of the flood in Maiduguri, let us remember that it is not just material assistance that we offer, but a symbol of our solidarity, compassion, and unwavering support for those in need. Our actions today reflect our commitment to standing by our fellow human beings in times of crisis and helping them rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.
