By Hussaini Ibrahim
ABUJA, Nigeria — A high-level delegation representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, visited the family of the late Sheikh Habibu Yahaya Kaura in Katsina State to offer condolences and reflect on the life and legacy of the renowned Islamic scholar.
The delegation, which included the Deputy Senate President, Distinguished Senator Barau Jibril, CFR; the Governor of Yobe State, His Excellency Mai Mala Buni, CON; and the Governor of Katsina State, His Excellency Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, met with the family on Wednesday to express sympathy and solidarity.
Hope Uzodimma, who led the delegation on behalf of the President, described Sheikh Kaura as a respected national figure widely admired for his teachings on good morals, discipline, peaceful coexistence, and upright living.
“I prayed that Almighty Allah (SWT) grants him Aljannatul Firdaus, forgives his shortcomings, and grants him His mercy. I also prayed that Allah grants his family the strength, patience, and comfort to bear this great loss,” Uzodimma said.
Family members and community leaders received the delegation, acknowledging Sheikh Kaura’s impact on religious scholarship and social cohesion across Katsina State and beyond.
The visit underscores the importance of national leaders recognizing and honoring the contributions of figures whose teachings and guidance have shaped ethical and moral standards in communities throughout Nigeria.
