Congress: ADC inaugurate 54-man state exco amidst court’s order in Adamawa

A fifty four (54) man newly elected state executive members of the African Democratic Congress party, ADC has been inaugurated on Sunday in Yola, the Adamawa state capital for a four year tenure of office.
Inaugurating the state leadership of the party, chairman of the ADC Congress committee, General Ishaya Bauka said that, his committee conducted the units, wards and local government congresses peaceful with out any rancour.
General Bauka while charging the new state exco to carry members of the party along in handling the affairs of the party mentioned that Barrister Sadiq Ibrahim Dasin was elected and returned the state chairman of the ADC,Shagnah Pwamadd I Maboyefe as state secretary,Moh’d Arabi Mustapha as state Organizing Secretary while Umar Sadiq was returned as the state Youth leader.
Others elected at the Congress were; Bar.Rahab Audi as the state woman leader,Martins Yanatham Dickson as the state publicity secretary as well as Naiwa Fakuta Hyellagizoya as the state treasurer among others.
In his acceptance speech, the chairman, Barrister Sadiq Ibrahim Dasin thanked the party’s members for according him and his team the opportunity to serve pledging to run an all inclusive tenure of office.
Dasin acknowledged the roles played by the former Vice president Atiku Abubakar and former Secretary to the Government of the Federation,SGF David Lawan Babachir as well as other critical stakeholders of the party announcing that his team will commence a reconciliation move to ensure everyone is accorded a sense of belonging.
The oath of office was administered to the new state officials by Barrister E.J Garba to the admiration of party members and invited guests that graced the historic event.
It could be recalled that the party (ADC) is facing an internal leadership crisis in the embattled chairman of the party,Com Shehu Yohanna secured an interim order from a state High court restraining the Congress committee from conducting the party congresses but the committee at a press conference in Yola on Thursday claimed not have been communicated to such development.
Similarly the forum of ADC local government chairmanship and Council lorship candidates observed with dismay that the prolonged crisis may affect the party’s prospect in forthcoming local government council elections.
In a press statement signed by the chairman and secretary of the forum, Abubakar Ahmadu and Dennis Kakaba urged the leadership to trade carefully in the interest and fortune of the party.
“In view of the forthcoming Local Government Council Elections scheduled for 13th June 2026, wishes to express its deep concern over the persistent leadership crisis currently affecting the party in the state.
“As candidates, our loyalty to the leadership of the party is intact and we are actively engaged in grassroots mobilization, we therefore consider this prolonged leadership dispute a serious threat to the party’s prospects in the upcoming council elections and other political engagements.
“In light of this, we call on the National Leadership of the ADC to urgently and impartially intervene in the situation in Adamawa State.The establishment of a reconciliation committee to engage all stakeholders and facilitate a lasting resolution is crucial at this stage.
“We also encourage respected leaders and neutral voices within the state to actively support efforts toward peace and unity.
“We reaffirm our unwavering loyalty to the ADC and it’s leadership in Adamawa State and our commitment to securing victory for the party in the 13th June 2026 elections.We remain steadfa st in our campaigns and dedicated to promoting the party’s vision across all communities.
“We firmly believe that unity within the party is essential for electoral success,
and we strongly believe that our chances of success will be significantly enhanced if we approach the elections as a united and cohesive force”. The forum assured.
