Crime 2024 : Adamawa Police Command arrest 715 criminals, prosecute 292 offenders

As the year 2024 comes to an end, the Adamawa state police command shares its success story of arresting 715 suspects and prosecuting 292 for various offences.
State Commissioner of police, CP Morris Dankwabo at a press conference in Yola Thursday said that the suspects alledgly committed various criminal offences including ; armed robbery, kidnapping, raping and culpable homicide amongst others.
CP Dankwabo explained that, the achievements were recorded due to strategies adopted by the operatives of the command with in the police professional ethics.
Dankwabo stressed that the command successfully got convictions in 292 cases in the course of operations in 2024 which a deliberate efforts to combat crimes and criminality in the state.
According to the CP, some of the strategies include, community policing, intense operational patrols, raiding of black spots/criminal hideouts, quick response to distress calls and visibility policing/stop and search operations.
Others are; rescue operations, creation of nipping points at strategic locations, synergy with sister agencies, vehicular/foot patrols, operation show of force/convoy patrols and synergy with local Vigilante groups.
He noted that at his inception as the CP in the state, he promised to nip insecurity in the bud noting that he has to a greater extent fulfilled that promise considering the drastic reduction of crime and criminality in the state.
“It is pertinent to remind the good people of the State that, when I came on board on the 14th February, 2024 as the 32nd Commissioner of Police, I made a pledge that I will fight crime and criminality to the barest minimum.
“To this end, today’s press conference is so special in the sense that, we want to showcase to the members of the public and the press, our achievement/successes recorded for the period under my watch. This will enable you to appraise if we have lived up to expectations or not,” he said.
