Senator Elisha Ishaku Abbo, a.k.a SIA, complementing what he could consider as a surprised invitation to serve as guest of honour, has amazingly impressed the gathering by donating tricycles and cash the participants that won the Qur’anic recitation category and the Qur’anic translation category at the 36th state Qur’anic recitation competition held at the palace of Hama Batta, His Royal Majesty Homun Alhamdu Gladson Teneke, Kpagashe Diyoshifuto Tikulo Batta, in Demsa Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

Presenting the tricycles and cash donation to the local organising committee of the competition, SIA expressed delight for the honour accorded him with the invitation signifying unity irrespective of difference in faith terms,

Advocating for unity and solidifying the Arewa spirit, SIA, assuring a continued support towards the Qur’anic recitation competition, has commended His Royal Majesty the Hama Bata not only hosting but also ensuring the smooth conduct of the first ever annual competition in his palace as non Muslim.

SIA, having congratulated the participants in the competition, commended the steering committee for the job well done.

According to Hama Bata, “This competition serves as more than just a display of Quranic recitation skills, It provides a vital opportunity to inspire young ones with values of faith, discipline, tolerance and understanding qualities we need now more than ever, given the complexities of our social and political realities.

“We are particularly proud and happy that Demsa have hosted this year’s event. This reflects not only the importance of spreading Quranic knowledge but also the commitment of our leaders and people to building a more harmonious and spiritually grounded society”.

The special guest of honour and former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Waziri Adamawa has emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence among adherents of different religions in Adamawa State.

Waziri Adamawa said the singular gesture demonstrated by Hama Batta would promote religious tolerance and understanding among his subjects and prayed to God to bless the kingdom.

The National Chairman of Jama’atul Izalatul Bid’a Waikamatus Sunnah, Sheikh Abdullahi Bala Lau, and Doctor Jabir Maihula, Sokoto State Commissioner for Islamic Affairs presented papers on the importance of the glorious Qur’an and religious tolerance.
