Denis Govt. Debunks Claims of Coup Attempts in Congo

The attention of the Congo Brazzaville Government has been drawn to a rumour circulating on social media and some media outfits that there was a coup attempt in the country.
Consequently, the country’s Minister of Information, Thierry Moungalla, described the news as ‘fake news.’
This is coming after several unconfirmed reports claimed that the military was trying to oust the government and seize power.
“We reassure public opinion about the calm that reigns and invite people to calmly go about their activities,” the minister wrote on his X page on Sunday.
The coup fears in Congo is coming barely four weeks after a group of military officers in Gabon seized power.
