Distance Came Near: Gov. Fintiri Launches Free Dialysis Treatments, Revolutionizing Healthcare In Adamawa
From Muh’d Shafi’u Sale
The Adamawa State Governor, Rt Hon Ahmadu Fintiri, has launched a groundbreaking initiative to provide free dialysis treatments throughout the state, aiming to make healthcare more accessible to the general population.
This initiative is part of the governor’s ongoing commitment to improving healthcare services, ensuring that both urban and rural communities benefit from better medical care.
The dialysis center at the Adamawa State Specialists Hospital in Yola is the first of its kind in any state-owned medical facility in the region. Prior to this, patients in need of dialysis had to rely on the Federal Medical Center in Yola or travel long distances to receive treatment.
Dr. Wadinga Dauda, the Medical Director at the Specialists Hospital, praised the governor’s dedication to public health, noting that the administration has focused on upgrading essential hospital facilities, including the construction of new cottage hospitals in local government areas.
A dialysis patient at the facility shared their experience, expressing gratitude for the life-changing impact of the free treatment program. Governor Fintiri has garnered widespread praise as a servant-leader, committed to transforming Adamawa’s healthcare system and addressing long-standing challenges in the state.
