Dr. Grema Kyari Leads Delegation to PDP Acting National Chairman—–Over Irregularities in Borno State Congress 2025

By Ahmed Baba Kuchichi

Today, Dr. Grema Kyari, accompanied by Comr. Abbas Musa Jibrin, Aliyu Hassan, and Hajiya Rukayya Manga, visited the office of the Acting National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Abdulrahman Mohammed, to seek justice regarding the controversial conduct of the Borno State Congress held on Saturday, 27th September 2025, at Forshams Event Centre, Maiduguri.

It will be recalled that ahead of the Congress, Dr. Grema Kyari formally demanded the full implementation of the statutory business of the session. This included the presentation of a four-year audited financial report by the Gaddama-led administration—detailing all revenues and expenditures—preparation and defence of a proposed budget for the incoming executive, presentation of reports by principal officers, and the conduct of the election proper. These lawful requirements were not adhered to despite the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) meeting earlier convened before the Commissioner of Police, Nigeria Police Force Borno State Command and other security agencies.

Following the flawed Congress, a petition was submitted to the PDP Appeal Committee led by Hon Bala Jada. However, no action was taken. Consequently, a pre-action notice was issued with the intention of commencing legal proceedings once the statutory period elapses on the 24th November, 2025

During the visit, Dr. Grema Kyari and other state executive aspirants extensively discussed the conduct and outcome of the 2025 Borno State Congress. Hon. Abdulrahman Mohammed warmly received the delegation and assured them that the National Secretariat will thoroughly examine the issues surrounding the Borno Congresses with a view to ensuring justice, fairness, and adherence to party guidelines..
