Egyptian President El-Sisi Condemns Attack On Hospital In Gaza That Claims 500 Lives
By Editor
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi issued a statement denouncing the hospital attack in Gaza.
“I condemn in the strongest of terms Israel’s bombardment,” he said, calling it a “clear violation of international law”.
El-Sisi told US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Sunday that Israel’s response to the Hamas attack had gone from self-defence to “collective punishment”.
The Egyptian leader is currently in Amman, Jordan, and expected to meet President Biden on Wednesday, despite Palestinian President Abbas shunning the summit and returning to Ramallah.
Recall that an Israeli air strike on Tuesday hit Al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza City where thousands of civilians are seeking medical treatment and shelter from relentless attacks.
Gaza health ministry says at least 500 casualties in hospital blast. A UN-run school housing refugees also struck.
