EMIR SANUSI TASKS JOURNALISTS ON UNITY

The Emir of Kano, HRH (Dr.) Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has stressed the need for journalists to continue to promote peace and harmonious co-existence in the country, through fair reportage.
The royal father gave the charge while receiving in his palace, executives of the Progressive Northern Media Professionals; who paid him a courtesy visit.
He said no society can develop without peace, noting that concerted efforts must be geared towards enhancing harmonious co-existence, even as he stressed that the media must lead the vanguard towards sustainable development.
He commended the laudable role of the association in promoting unity in the North in particular, and the country in general, urging them to sustain the tempo.
The royal father promised to support the association in its determined efforts to enhance unity, emphasising the need for them to remain focused in carrying out its noble objectives.
The interim president of the association, Mallam Mahmoud Muhammad, had earlier in a remark, disclosed that the association was formed in view of the present challenges confronting the region.
He said they have decided to pick the gauntlet by working collectively in promoting and enhancing the peaceful co-existence in the area in particular and the entire country in general, even as he sought for the co-operation of the royal father in this regard.
