Entrepreneurship : 20 youths and women trained on Batik, Tie, Dye, & fabric artistic designs in Adamawa

Twenty (20) youths and women entrepreneurs have concluded a three-day extensive training on Batiking, tieing and dyeing fabrics in Adamawa State.

The participants were selected across the nine (9) LGAs of Adamawa Southern Senatorial District and had their physical trainings on the rudiments of batiking and dying which was held in Mayo-Belwa local government area of the state.

In her remarks at the closing ceremony of the training, the Convener and daughter of Adamawa southern senatorial zone,Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe, Lynda Rubi Binos expressed gratitude to her Creator for giving her the opportunity to contribute in developing in the people in her society.

Rubi explained that, the initiative was a joint effort with her friend, Peace Bassani as they brought the idea to embark on a project with direct bearing on the people and decided to picked an empowerment programme just like that of her father,Senator Binos Yaroe.

Rubi noted that, the participants were groomed in all what they needed to know about dying and batiking with a sole aim of becoming useful to themselves and the society and country at large.

She therefore, charged the participants to use the knowledge acquired judiciously by setting up their own businesses to transfer the skills to others in their various societies.

“Gone were the days when people depend on white collar-jobs, even the developed countries, like Singapore witnessed rapid developmental transformation when its government engaged the young people in skills acquisition programmes.

“Our decision to embark on the project was borne out the love for the constituents in the Southern senatorial zone which was supported by Senator Yaroe Binos.

“I also encourage us as the younger generation to engage in entrepreneurship and pursue academic knowledge so that we can be in tune with changing times.

“Apart from the training on batiking, tie, dying and other fabric artistic designs, we are as well given the required working materials to the 20 participants each worth N115, 000 so as to hit the ground running immediately”.She explained.

Speaking at the occasion on behalf of the Senator (Binos),his wife Mrs Binos Yaroe said that empowering his constituents is one of his topmost priorities, hence he waisted no time in buying into the idea of the two young promising women.

He assured the participants and the Adamawa South people as a whole of his commitment and determination to keep providing them with the needed dividends of democracy.

A participant of the training, Hundoko Samuel said to be in to the business of washing and ironing clothes for people.So could not hide his joy over the training, saying that the skills he leaned would add value to his business.

In his words, “In my business, I only wash clothes and iron them. But with the knowledge I acquired from this training, I can also tie and dye clothes for my customers. I want to thank our facilitators, Lynda and Peace for taking their time to train us”.

Our Correspondent reported that the training which had both theory and practical stages saw the emergence of new certified dye-and-tye design experts in the Zone.
