FCC Boss Attributes Success to Governor Buni’s Support

By Hussaini Ibrahim Sulaiman

The Federal Character Commission (FCC) has credited Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, for his crucial role in securing key federal positions for the state.

The Federal Commissioner representing Yobe at the FCC, Hon. Jibrin Maigari, attributed the Commission’s achievements to Governor Buni’s unwavering support and leadership.

Speaking on his stewardship, Hon. Maigari emphasized that Governor Buni was instrumental in his emergence as an FCC Commissioner and in driving progress toward equitable representation for the people of Yobe in federal establishments.

“Governor Mai Mala Buni was instrumental to my appointment at the Federal Character Commission,” Maigari stated. “Whatever successes we have recorded in ensuring fair representation for Yobe State are largely due to his visionary leadership and steadfast support.”

He acknowledged that Yobe remains underrepresented in federal positions but reassured residents of his commitment to bridging that gap through strategic engagement and sustained advocacy at the national level.

“It is our collective responsibility to ensure that Yobe gets its fair share in the federal landscape,” he said. “I remain committed to that mission and deeply appreciate Governor Buni’s guidance, which continues to inspire our efforts.”

Maigari also assured the people of Yobe that his office would continue to work tirelessly to secure more employment opportunities for the youth, aligning with the principles of equity and federal character.

Widely known as “Baba Mai Gonar Offer” for his remarkable contributions in securing federal job placements for the youth, Maigari has remained a strong advocate for fair representation of Yobe indigenes in federal establishments.

His tenure at the FCC has been marked by efforts to push for increased federal presence in the state, ensuring Yobe benefits from national appointments and employment opportunities.

The commendation from the Federal Government further underscores Governor Buni’s influence in advancing the interests of Yobe State at the federal level, reinforcing his commitment to governance that prioritizes inclusivity and equitable representation.
