Fedpoly Mubi Union refute allegations of Corruption, maladministration against Governing Council in Adamawa.
From Umar Dankano, Yola.
The Joint Action Congress,JAC.Union of the Federal Polytechnic Mubi has refuted allegations of maladministration and financial misconduct labelled against the Chairman of the institution’s Governing council by a group of concern citizens.
Addressing a press conference in Yola, the Adamawa state capital weekend, the Chairman of the Union (JAC), Comrade Tpl.Kadala Solomon Bandi dismissed the petition describing it as “baseless and fact deficient written by a faceless group”.
Comrade Bandi who was flanked by other executive members of the Union said the entire Polytechnic community is disheartened with the development stressing that, the three Unions in the Polytechnic including ; ASUP, SSANIP and NASU as critical stakeholders and the 11th Governing Council of the Institution have been collaborating effectively for the good and progress of the Polytechnic.
Comrade Bandi viewed the petitioners claims as “the figments of their own imagination” urging on stakeholders and all well meaning Nigerians to disregard the write up which he said “best belong to the trash can, and requires no response for its lack of credibility and vagueness”.
In response to an allegation on the council plunging the institution in to financial crisis, the JAC Chairman replied explaining that school have been financially challenged as claimed by the management for some years to the extent that departments are run without impress and teaching aids for close to three years.
He advised the petitioners to see reason in changing their way of not being beclouded by primordial sentiments , unquenchable greed and sense of entitlement rather try in queuing in to the workable reforms introduced by the council led by Dr. Babagana Ajimi for the development of the Institution.
He therefore called on the visitor to the Polytechnic, Senate Committee on Tertiary Institution and TETfund, Federal Ministry of Education and other stakeholders to do the needful by sanctioning fake whistle blowers to serve as detterance to others.
“We can boldly state that, the council have never overstepped its bounds rather they have operated within the ambits of the law establishing it”.Bandi declared.
It could be recalled that, an aggrieved group ‘Mubi Concern Citizens’ wrote a petition to the National Assembly through chairman, Senate Committee on Tertiary Institution and TETfund against the Polytechnic’s chairman Governing Council,Dr.Babagana Ajimi accusing him of alleged financial misconduct, maladministration and high-handedness.
The petition dated 29th November 2024. signed by Jacob Jambula as chairman with Hajiya Fatimatu Labaran as Secretary of the group solicited for urgent attention from the mother ministry, the Senate and Independent Corrupt Practices Commission,ICPC in investigating the issues raised claiming to have threaten the integrity, financial stability and academic standing of the Institution.
