FG urge to address failing standards of education.Degereji.

The provost of Federal College of Education Yola, Dr. Mohammed Usman Degereji has appeal to Federal government to provide more workable strategies to addressing failing standards of education in the country.
Dr. Degereji made the appeal in Yola Monday during the college’s internal stakeholders meeting to proffer solutions on challenges facing the college tagged “staff dialogue to draw a roadmap to reposition the college in 2024” stressing that the government need to look inwards in the sector.
“We conveyed this internal staff dialogue for the management to interface with the senior staff in the college to find solutions to the problems or challenges we have in the college.
“Usually if you interact with the staff, you will have ideas that would help you manage the college effectively”. Degereji advanced.
Degereji urges the Federal government to ensure out of school children challenge is tackle head on so that our children can be useful to themselves and their societies noting that majority of the children out of school are of the low or medium class of the society.
“The federal government should reconsider redirecting more finances to the sector as 350,000 teachers are needed annually for the basic schools in the country.
He also advised that the government need to prioritize in engagement of the youths depending on the level of their educational background reiterating that they can be use in provision of technical services.
He suggested that the youth should be trained massively in all fields with a view to changing the present narrative of consumption to production level.
The provost therefore enjoin the senior staff and heads of units attending the two days engagement to be free and contribute positively so that smooth working synergy can be attained.
