Fictitious Middle-Belt; A Rot To Rwanda
By Adamu Muhammad Dodo
The zoning does not recognise what is referred to as Middle-Belt but the North Central Zone, made up of six states, namely Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger Plateau and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
The fictitious advocates however include old Gongola – Adamawa and Taraba – Southern Kaduna, Southern Bauchi, Southern Kebbi, Southern Gombe, Southern Yobe and Southern Borno states, where they considered as minority majority arrears, as parts of the Middle-Belt.
The propaganda is all about how to disfigure what is considered as Hausa-Fulani or Fulani-Hausa and Kanuri hegemony in the north, which by implication, challenging the unity inherent in Islam, seen as the dominant religion among the Fulani-Hausa and Kanuri speaking majority.
This attempt is indeed dead on arrival considering a simple fact that in trying to bring other ethnic groups against what is considered as the dominant three, there must be a unifying language spoken and understood by all and indeed faith; Hausa is therefore the dominant choiced language of interrection followed by Fulfulde, because English is simply elitist and the majority of the minority aren’t by social status, elites.
Suffices to say that Hausa, like English, is more of a language than a tribe; the same can be attributed to Fulfulde language.
Islam advocates for unity in diversity and brotherhood between and among Muslims and discourages tribal and ethnic affiliation and inclination.
Majority of the tribesmen would not be infected by defective memory and/or propaganda of fictitious arrangement against the Divine, designed to divide and rule, because they are more inclined to the faith professed (Islam) than the polemic associated with the politics of Middle-Belt that will result in Fulani-Hausa, Kanuri hate theology.
Intermarriages between and among Fulani, Hausa, Kanuri, Hausa-Fulani, Fulani-Hausa, with other tribes are beyond Rwandan genocidal propaganda to overrule by the seeming mirage Middle-Belt theology proselytise.
The previous propaganda aimed at disintegrating Fulani and Hausa failed from the very beginning after having spent substantial resources using media for the onslaught. Hausa-Fulani or Fulani-Hausa and Kanuri in addition, are bonded to Islam, hence inseparable.
Why divide and rule? A social commentator’s articulation is appealing to relate in this context. In Benue state, he said, though there are other tribes than Tiv and Idoma, the Tiv people dominate the political Benue without considering even the Idoma tribesmen that are next in the population for governorship. You find similar unfortunate development in Plateau state.
“It’s high time to end the rivalry and think development; states in the north that are performing poorly are those led by tribesmen than Fulani-Hausa and Kanuri,” a social commentator would observe.
The north and indeed the country need to work on good leadership and good governance rather than the parochial thought of one-of-us-ness however ineffective and inefficient the candidate can be.
TRIBES AGAINST FULANI-HAUSA, HAUSA-FULANI AND KANURI is dead on arrival, condemned by Islam that reduced the move to JAHILIYYA zeitgeist
