Fire outbreak engulfs Borno Express Mechanical Workshop, burnt down vehicles spare parts, tyres, office equipment

Fire suspected to be from gas explosion has engaged Mechanical Workshop of the state Owned transport service cooperation, Borno.Express, many vehicles, spare parts, tyre and office equipment were destroyed.

The fire was suspected to have been caused by Gas Explosion has consumed many vehicles worth millions of Naira at the Workshop in Maiduguri..

The workshop houses fleets of government vehicles belonging to Transport Corporation vehicles were been serviced.

The incident which started at about 12 noon on Monday, caused pandemonium as people scamper for safety, even as men of the fire service who were mobilized to site made concerted efforts to put off the fire.

Daily Hint correspondent reports that no life was lost, but one of the Fire Service personnel (Names withheld) sustained minor injury on his hand in the process.

This incident is coming barely 24 hours when another mysterious fire razed communities of Wanori and Nguluri in Konduga local government area of the state. The two affected communities hosts many Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).

The Commissioner of Transport and Energy, Aliyu Buba Bamanga who was sighted at the scene declined to comment, as he said, “The Governor is billed to come and see the damage, so i cannot make any statement to prempt what His Excellency, Professor Babagana Zulum would say”.

Daily Hint reporter who was at the Government House, Maiduguri stated that at the time of filing this report, the Governor is yet to visit the scene, as smokes bleeding everywhere from the main building and the personnel of fire service were still at the scene.
