Flood: NSA Ribadu, Mustapha support ravaged families with relief materials worth N300m in Adamawa

National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu and the North East Zonal National Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mustapha Salihu have donated relief materials worth N300 million to 700 flood ravaged families in Adamawa state.

Recall that a devasting flood recorded on Sunday 27th August 2025 as a result of heavy downpour had wrecked havoc in some communities in Yola South local government area claiming 25 human lives and that of animals, and destroyed properties worth millions of Naira.It(floo d) displaced 2000 residents.

Speaking during the distribution of the relief materials, Mustapha Atiku Ribadu said that the NSA and the national party official expressed their passionate concerns about the destruction of lives and properties caused by the flood urging them to remain resolute .

“The NSA is really disturbed by the plight of the victims and has assured that everyone caught up by the flood will get the relief package. What we are seeing today is just the beginning. We would reach out to every victim, every family affected by the flood,” he said.

Ribadu explained that about 700 families from the seven affected communities have been screened so far adding that the process will continue till every affected family is covered.

“This is the first phase of the distribution of the relief package brought by NSA, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu and the North East Vice Chairman of our party, Comrade Mustapha Salihu.

“The beneficiaries were selected from the seven identified communities worst hit by the flood and each beneficiary will get a bag of rice, a carton of spaghetti, a carton of indomie, cooking oil and a cash token of N10,000.

“We are going to continue the screening process to ensure only the victims get the materials. And despite the fact that stalwarts of APC were behind this gesture, all affected persons will benefit regardless of their political inclination. This gesture is not based on party basis but humanitarian grounds,” he stated.

Ribadu also announced that noted that, more palliatives procured by the NSA to the victims including clothing materials, drugs, food, mosquito nets, and other assorted food and non food materials are on transit coming to Yola .

He further explained that a committee has already been established by the APC to handle the distribution exercise devoid of religious and political considerations 

A beneficiary of the gesture,Alhaji Saidu Modibbo residing in Almashur by-pass Yola, registered his appreciation saying that they remain indebted to the duo for remembering them in this trying moment of their lives.

Mrs Grace Monday of sabon pegi quarters confirmed receiving a bag of 25KG parboiled Rice,a cartoon of spaghetti,a cartoon of indomie noodles and a ten litres gallon of vegetable oil.
