FRSC engage stakeholders in automobile industry on road crashes campaign in Adamawa.

Stakeholders in automobile industry have observed that most road crashes are caused by over speeding and lack of adherence to traffic regulations by motorists in the country.

The observation was deliberated on at the 2025 Ember Months Operations town hall meeting organized for the vehicle owners and other stakeholders by the Federal Road Safety Commission,FRSC in Yola, the Adamawa state capital on Thursday.

In his remarks, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC. Adamawa state Command, Abdulmalik Bello Dama stressed the need for the owners of commercial vehicles to take proper control of their assets by making necessary monitoring.

Commander Bello expressed gratitude to the state government and stakeholders for always being there when ever the Commission desire their cooperation noting that this year’s exercise would be “participatory kind of operation”.

Bello explained that with the involvement of vehicle owners, road workers Unions, the law enforcement agencies and the media for massive awareness strategies on the importance of adhering to road regulations with a view to reduce crashes on our roads.

According to him,all we need as Nigerians is attitudinal change on the way while driving reiterating that this year’s celebrations of Christmas and New Year would be zero crash which means there will be zero fatality in the state.

In his good will message, the Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers,NURTW.Adamawa state Branch, Umar Mallam Babba applauded the effort of the FRSC in safeguarding the lives and property of Nigerians traveling on the roads.

Mallam Babba urged the government to ensure a sole central motor park is maintain where passengers can go for their commercial road transportation con cern’s insisting that, that is a panacea to checkmate atrocities by criminals disguising as passengers on transit.

“In our Jambutu motor park,as a Union we decided to be closing the park by seven o’clock (7:00PM) daily just not to allow unscrupulous elements penetrate in for their neferous activities”. Said Babba.

Also Speaking at the occasion,National Vice President of Tricycle Owners Association of Nigeria, North East, Comrade Bashir Muhammed Jimeta said as an employment opportunity, Nigeria has over twenty five million ( Over 25M) commercial tricycle riders in the country.

Comrade Jimeta announced as a Union, they have guiding principles guarding the operations of their members making an observation on usage of speed limit devices on vehicles.

Jimeta opined that the government needs to ensure the implementation of speed limit devices composorily by vehicle owners so as to control the speed limit of vehicles within the range of hundred kilometers per hour.

Daily Hint Correspondent in Yola reported that the meeting was well attended by critical stakeholders including; Special Marshall, Commercial vehicle owners, NURTW, the Vehicles Inspection Officials, NATO members, Military personnel, Police,NSC DC officers,NYSC Members, Spouses of the FRSC in their colorful attires and youth and student groups respectively.
