FRSC Personnel To Combat Insecurity On Highways — Bauchi Gov Urges FG

Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir has joined the call on the Federal Government and other relevant agencies to as a matter of necessity arm personnel of the Federal Roads Safety Commission (FRSC).
The Governor stressed that arming personnel of the FRSC will assist in addressing security challenges in Nigeria especially along the Federal highways where they are operating.
Bala Mohammed was speaking when he received participants of the Senior Course 2 of the Federal Roads Safety Corps Command and Staff College, Udi, Enugu State who were on a study tour to Bauchi State.
The Governor appreciated the FRSC’s choice of the State for the study tour, saying that his administration will continue to partner the FRSC in addressing the many road challenges in the state.
He also commended the FRSC personnel for their untiring efforts at keeping the roads across the country safe by reducing fatal crashes through rigorous enlightenment campaigns and education.
According to him, his administration has accorded roads infrastructure across the state the required attention deserving in the bid to address the many poor roads network in the state.
The Governor called for continuous support and prayers for his administration to succeed in its bid to turnaround the fortune of the state, assuring that his focus is leaving behind a well developed Bauchi State at the end of his tenure.
In his remarks, the Commandant, FRSC Command and Staff College, Udi, Assistant Corps Marshal Chidiebere Esq who led the participants on the visit to Governor Bala Mohammed at the EXCO Chambers of the Government House, expressed gratitude for the warm reception they received on stepping into the state.
He said that they were in Bauchi state for the routine study tour by the participants of the Senior Course 2 of the FRSC Command and Staff College, Udi to x-ray the potentials of the state and how best to contribute to nation building.
Assistant Corps Marshal Chidiebere also said that the tour is part of the FRSC’s training requirements aimed at equipping them with various initiatives, skills and education on how to address road crashes and other road mishaps for continuous development.
He further stated that the choice of Bauchi State was deliberate because of the good road network across the state under the leadership of Governor Bala Mohammed.
During the visit, the participants of Senior Course 2 of the FRSC asked the Governor questions on some of his administration’s laudable projects and measures to address traffic congestion and development.
In response to the question, the Governor said Bauchi State as a gateway to the North-East subregion is striving hard to contain the high influx of people from across the country.
