Gov. Buni Attends Unimaid 24th Combined Convocation Ceremony

His Excellency the Executive Governor of Yobe state, Hon. Mai Mala Buni CON today attended the 24th combined convocation ceremony of the University of Maiduguri.
The University graduated 33,429 students with 20,048 graduating from the regular undergraduate programmes, 6,940 from affiliated colleges, and 3,032 from Center for Distance Learning, out of which 147 made first class.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Aliyu Shugaba, said 113 others bagged Doctorate Degrees, 817 Masters Degrees, and 902 Post graduate Diplomas.
Vice President Kashim Shettima GCON, the Shehu of Borno Alh. Abubakar lbn Garbai Al-Amin El-kanemi, Former Registrar of the University Alh. Dahiru Bobbo, and Alh. Abdulsamad Rabiu were conferred with Honourary Doctorate Degrees.
Meanwhile, University has approved the appointment of three Professors emeritus namely Abubakar Mustapha, Mohammed Yerima Balla and Bamidele Rotimi Badejo.
Governor Buni attended the event along with governors of Nassarawa, and Taraba states, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume, and some ministers among others.
