We always need good leaders to help us and make the essential large scale decisions that keeps a state moving, we believe that leaders are not born, but made, and are molded through experience, continued study and adaptation.

Hon. Mai Mala Buni before now, has proven to be a selfless servant and astute manager of people, he exhibited high ethics and morality with uncommon wisdom, a remarkable vision and an exemplary style of leadership of carrying everyone along irrespective of all differences. He stood tall and grew rapidly through the ranks to the position he holds today, the democratically elected Governor of Yobe state and one time national caretaker chairman extraordinary committee of the ruling all progressive congress (APC) A position that remains history in the political atmosphere of Yobe state and Nigeria at large.

Gov. Buni have being a role model to all and sundry, an exemplary selfless giving to this generation, especially his state yobe and Nigeria as a whole, yobeans are so proud to have such Icon with few word and a goal getter who always see things done and accordingly with all professionalism. One good thing about him is that, he never despises and carries everyone along, these are leaders worthy of emulation.

Governance in Yobe state, under the determined leadership of Gov. Mai Mala Buni is now tagged, ‘Promise made, promise kept” it is no more a pleasure ride, but serious business, minds, look at Yobe, besides the fact, since his emergence as the democratically elected Governor after overwhelming contested general elections, Yobe after 4 years of Buni’s positive impartation is known as exemplary state in terms of developments and traceable infrastructures that cut across the state.

Governance is an ideal concept which is very much important for socioeconomically development of a state, effective public service delivery, is an important instrument for boosting up the governance. Fortunately, Yobe state public institution has witnessed a huge turn around since the assumption of Buni in office, as the democratically elected Governor of Yobe state.
Citizens expectations are very much satisfied by the tremendous achievements and the direct Impartation in the life of the people at all levels.

Buni’s strategies for mandate actualization anchored on programmes and policies committed to delivery on mass development, wealth and job creation.

His Excellency, Mai Mala Buni’s victory at the polls did not just happened as a surprise considering his vast political background and network that cut across, local state and federal government, he is known to be an astute manager of people and an all-inclusive leader who carries everyone along not minding status, tribe or political affiliation, he is also known to be a man of few words who a common man can relate easily.

The masses have agreed that, in four years of Buni in office and his second term, he has hit the ground running and showing bright prospect of turning around the dwindling fortunes in education sector, the health sector has been a talk across Africa with the world class maternity and infant clinics that has modern facilities and upto date equipment, the dialysis machine, theyre all breathtaking and accomodating free charges. The education sector especially the basic/secondary sector that had so nosedived in the recent past. The masses are heard calling him the long awaited messiah who came and turned the state around and made life more affordable and worthwhile.

Like a broken record, the governor could be heard saying that “education is the greatest social equalizer” as he believes in providing access to educational opportunities especially to the children of the poor and low income families, he institutionalize the scholarship programme, just last Tuesday the 16th of January 2024 he gave 221 law students scholarship to study law in different avenue and capacity and kept constructing and renovating schools to modern standard and equipping them with the best learning facilities under a conducive atmosphere and employed qualified teachers that will impact direct knowledge.

Gov. Buni’s deep insider knowledge of the level of dilapidation of the basic/secondary sector led him to declare state of emergency on the sector immediately he took the oath of office. His bold step in unveiling what his administration intends to achieve in the next four years, reveals the personality of a leader who is irrevocably committed to leaving behind positive footprint on the sand of time, taking a clue from empirical evidence thrown up by his bold beginning.

The led administration of Buni addressed and redressed the existing and emerging challenges through aligning programmes, functions with the federal government, recent he was in UK to partner on health and kingdom of Morocco on Agriculture and wealth creation, Bill & Melinda Gates/ Dangote foundations on effective healthcare delivery service. MOU with shippers’ council to build a trailer Transit Park and mechanic village in potiskum.

Health wise, Buni’s administration have build healthcare centres across the 17 local government area councils and equips them with necessary facilities and assigned professionals to handle it, and renovated and turned hospitals to specialist and dialysis centres and made it free for everyone, indigenes to gain access and Just gave the nod to employ 54 nurses for effective service delivery mandate, not to mention the students his administration gave scholarship to study MBBS and Midwifery and put them on monthly salary to make them focus on their study and recently he gave direct employment to nurses that just graduated from nursing school among others.

The housing scheme of building 3,600 house of different apartment across the state and the over 200,000 Jobs it will bring about. The Damaturu Sunday market that is build to a modern standard, it will bring about employment and IGR to the state.

The potiskum Trailer Transit Park the biggest across Africa is almost on completion and when done, it will be a medium of both massive employment and huge medium of IGR to Yobe state and will bring about tourism and interstate transaction. The resuscitated factories that is supplying and creating positive impact to both the masses and state as a whole.

As far as, politics is concerned, there are many great and reputable leaders in this country, but Mai Mala Buni is a leader who i consider extremely impressive not because he is my Boss, i have worked under great leaders but Buni is exceptional and worthy of emulation, he never mince words because his words are his bonds.

This piece is not about politics, politics is like the hide of the sea, it swings to and fro, much like the thrust of a pendulum, as they say, whenever the commanding interest lies, I am talking about the serious business of governance under the command of a determined Captain,” Gov. Buni.

It is not always easy to work with a “workaholic” Governor, whose main requirement is competence plus” doing the extra mile” Buni is truly a pacesetter.
