Gov. Buni vows to end water scarcity in Damaturu, environs – SSG

Yobe State Governor Hon. Mai Mala Buni CON has moved to end water scarcity bedevilling Damaturu, the state capital and its environs.
Governor Buni has approached the issue of lingering acute shortage of water with full force to ensure the availability of water supply.
The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Baba Malam Wali mni said on Friday that Governor Buni has given a matching directive to bring to an end the water scarcity in the state capital.
“The prolonged acute shortage of water in the city and water supply to Damaturu would be addressed as directed by Governor Mai Mala Buni”.
“The state Governor Mai Mala Buni was deeply concerned with the perennial shortage of water in the capital city of Damaturu and its environs, hence directed that diesel supply be increased to 60,000 litres from the initial 40,000 to the state water Corporation facilities, which has given them the opportunity to power more boreholes to improve the supply of Water to Damaturu community”.
“As a demonstration of government commitment, Governor Mai Mala Buni immediately directed the office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) staff to liaise with the management of the state water Corporation in order to ensure immediate supply of water to the people of Damaturu and environs”.
The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Baba Malam Wali said his office has been liasing with the state water Corporation in carrying out His Excellency’s matching directive of technical and financial support to the water Corporation”.
“With this development, residents of Damaturu and environs facing water scarcity are set to see some relief as water supply will improve significantly Insha Allah.” The SSG assured.
“Governor Mai Mala Buni solicits more patience and prayers from the good people of Damaturu as more efforts were on top gear to ensure temporary and permanent solutions to the problem”.
