Gov. Buni’s Human Development Revolution: Building a Smarter Yobe for Tomorrow
By Yusuf Ali
One of the most remarkable things happening in Yobe State today, beyond the impressive infrastructural transformation, is the consistent investment in human capacity development.
Governor Mai Mala Buni’s administration has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to building not just physical structures, but the minds and competencies of the people who sustain them.
Indeed, there has never been a better time for Yobe’s workforce—especially civil servants—to learn, relearn, and upgrade their skills in line with global trends. Through a series of trainings, workshops, and professional development programmes, the Buni administration has repositioned the state’s civil service for excellence, efficiency, and innovation.
It is worthy of commendation that His Excellency, Governor Mai Mala Buni, CON, never hesitates to approve any reasonable expenditure aimed at improving the knowledge base and technical capacity of civil servants. To him, every investment in human development is an investment in the future of Yobe State.
At a time when the world is rapidly evolving and digital transformation is redefining governance and service delivery, Governor Buni’s foresight in prioritizing human capital development stands as a model for progressive leadership. His administration continues to ensure that Yobe’s public servants are not left behind, but rather equipped to meet the demands of a modern, knowledge-driven economy.
Truly, under Governor Buni, Yobe State is not only rebuilding its infrastructure but also rebuilding the minds that will sustain its growth for generations to come.
