Gov. Fintiri present staff of office to new Emir of Maiha Emirate in Adamawa

In the series of the Seven (7) new Districts and Emirates coronations in Adamawa state, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintir has presented staff of office to the emir of Maiha, Alhaji Ahmadu Saibaru.

Governor Fintiri while addressing the mammoth crowd explained that, the establishment of Maiha Emirate is part of a broader initiative to revitalize and modernize the traditional institution while preserving its cultural significance.

“This significant event is an integral part of the ongoing revitalization of our cherished traditional institution in Adamawa State,”Fintiri stated.

He reaffirmed that, creation of new emirates and chiefdoms reflects his led government’s commitment to strengthening governance, promoting social cohesion, and enhancing security.

He added that, the new emirates will serve as centers for dispute resolution, improve the management of ungoverned spaces, and contribute to peace, security, and development.

“These reforms are not simply symbolic; they are designed to create a more inclusive and responsive system of governance that addresses the needs of all our citizens,” he declared.

Stressing the importance of regional cooperation in the state and neighboring countries like Cameroon republic,Fintiri noted that fostering cross-border relationships is essential for economic growth and stability.

The Governor charged the people of Maiha Emirate to embrace their cultural diversity as a strength rather than a division urging the new emir to be guided by fairness, justice, inclusivity and fear of God in the discharge of his duties as paramount ruler.

Earlier in his remarks, the new emir of Maiha Alhaji Ahmadu Saibaru thanked Governor Fintiri for considering Maiha as an Emirate and subsequent appointment of an Emir referring to coronation day as one of the happiest day in his life endeavour.

Emir Saibaru appeal for support and corporation from all and sundry pledging to do justice to all in his Emirate for the development of the area.

The ceremony was graced by prominent personalities including ; former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Barrister Boss Mustapha, Former Governor Muhammad Jibrila Bindow among others.
