GOV. ODODO WON’T LET THE KOGI PEOPLE DOWN – OBASANJO

By Remi Adebayo

Olujonwo, a son to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, has assured the people of Kogi State that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo will not disappoint them.

Olujonwo gave the assurance through a statement on Sunday in Abuja, congratulating Governor Ododo who was inaugurated on Saturday, in Lokoja, the state’s capital.

The chieftain of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) expressed confidence that as a scholar and versatile accounting expert who has also acquired requisite leadership and governance skills and experiences, Governor Ododo has garnered the competence to lead Kogi State into increased development to deliver on good governance.

“The people of Kogi State should congratulate themselves for having as governor, a scholar, experienced accountant, an astute administrator, experienced politician and a loyal party man like Alhaji Usman Ododo as governor.

“Governor Ododo’s sterling record at different levels of responsibility in the private and public service are confidence booster that Kogi State can only soar higher and prosper better via socioeconomic, industrial and infrastructural innovations in no distant future.”

He urged the governor to always carry the people along while implementing his electoral promises to consolidate on their support and integrate them into the democratic process.

The APC chieftain also charged the people of the state to rally round the governor by giving him the necessary support that will encourage him to perform in their best interest.

“Our people in Kogi must remember that a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere is the bedrock of development and progress. All hands must be on deck to move the state forward regardless of ethnic, religious or party affiliation.”

The Convener, APC Youth Organization, also commended the immediate past governor of the state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello on his successful eight-year tenure through which he delivered meritorious and impactful service to the people of the state.

“Nowhere is failure rewarded with the kind of confidence the good people of Kogi State have expressed their love for the APC. Such trust cannot be attained without the love the people have for the former governor which I am sure is anchored on his grassroots connection and good work while he was the governor.”

Furthermore, Obasanjo lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his statesmanship and for expanding the scope of democratic ethics with the free space he accorded the electoral and judicial processes on election matters.

Drumming support for the president, Olujonwo urged Nigerians to sustain their confidence in the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu-led administration, assuring that the current challenges will soon give way to prosperity.

“As Nigerians, we are all passing through a difficult time, but if we can endure this for a little more time, the fruits of the reforms shall be evident and benefit all of us.

“Let us continue to support the President for his agenda to come full swing in the best interest of our nation and the future of our children”
