Gov. Uzodimma welcomes PDP defectors to APC in Imo

OWERRI, NIGERIA — Governor Hope Uzodimma has received a group of defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) into the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the move as a sign of growing unity and support for his administration’s development agenda in Imo State.

The governor welcomed the delegation led by Evang. Mike Ikokwu, noting that their decision to join the APC reflected a shared commitment to advancing the state’s progress.

“It was with great pleasure that I welcomed a distinguished group of Imolites, led by Evang. Mike Ikokwu, from the opposition party, the PDP, into our progressive family, the All Progressives Congress,” Uzodimma said. “Their decision highlights a collective commitment to the greater good of our State.”

He stated that the state’s renewed development drive is already producing visible results, adding that no progressive-minded citizen would wish to be left behind.

“This renewed momentum is inspired by our deep love for our dear State, which unquestionably belongs to all of us. We must join hands in advancing its growth, strengthening our shared vision, and securing lasting prosperity for our people,” he added.

Uzodimma also stressed the importance of unity, peace and alignment with national development priorities.

“We shall continue to align with national politics, drawing from the purposeful leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose administration consistently strengthens sustainable developmental goals for our nation,” he said.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to place Imo firmly on the path of sustainable growth through inclusive governance and collaboration across political divides.
