Group holds one day dialogue to celebrate Governor Zulum’s 5th year in office

A group under the umbrella of the All Progressive Congress (APC) community Mobilization Forum, has held a one day stakeholders dialogue session with a theme,”
Sustaining the momentum”, to commemorate one year anniversary of Governor Babagana Umara Zulum’s Second Term in office .
The Group is an APC support and mobilization organised dialogue to discuss how best to sustained the achievement of Governor Babagana Zulum and to celebrate his fifth year in office which held at the El kanemi Hall, Ramat Polytechnic, Maiduguri yesterday.
The group in a communique issued at the end of the stakeholders dialogue on the achievements of Governor Zulum and the need to sustain, promote and protect the legacy of Governor Zulum by the people and communities across the state.
Reading tthe Communique, the chairman of the communique drafting Committee, Abba Alkali said the group suggested that awareness campaign on the significance of provision of government projects and programmes in communities should be carried out.
The communique further said there is need for sensitization of the citizenry on the need and benefits of sustainability of government projects and programmes executed and implemented in the overall interest of the people in the society.
The group also observed that there was the need for government to look into the issue of water supply and environmental sanitation and hygiene in some wards of the metropolis in order to address and curtail cases of kidney diseases among others.
The communique also advocated for all inclusive educational programmes and sponsorship for the primary and secondary schools pupils and students through scholarships as those of undergraduates and postgraduates by the state government.
The stakeholders acknowledged the tremendous capital projects executed by Governor Zulum’ in the past five years of his administration while calling for support and encouragement from the people to ginger the governor perform more and better in next three years of his second tenure.
Stakeholders enjoined political leaders,community and religious leaders as well as youths and women leaders to mobilize their members to contribute earnestly to the sustainability facilities and amenities provided in general interest of development of Borno State while appreciating the role and efforts of humanitarian partners and developers as well as security operatives towards the achievements recorded .
Earlier, in his keynote Speaker, Dr. Ali Yaumi, who is the former Executive Chairman of Magumeri LGC of Borno State and presently, a senior lecturer with Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Maiduguri elaborated on the several major achievements of Governor zulum and policy trust which is the blueprint of the administration called 10-point Agenda.
Dr Yaumi said Governmor Zulum blueprint has successfully been implemented to the latter and further metamorphosed into a 25 year development plan and 10 years strategic transformation plan while showcasing achievements of Governor zulum in some major sectors of the state economy like education, health, roads, housing, poverty alleviation, skills acquisition and entrepreneurship, agriculture, resettlement of IDPs and human capital development among others.
Also, the Coordinator of the Forum, Aliyu Mohammed highlighted on the aims and objectives of the dialogue session to mark the first year of the governor’s second tenure and it’s reasons which centered in identification, protection, promotion and Sustainability of the projects and programmes zulum has executed and implemented respectively.
He called on the stakeholders and people of Borno to continue to support and rally round Governor Zulum to turn Borno State into a small London and one the modern cities in Nigeria with the emerging peace and stability the state is presently enjoying with the support of the security agencies and vigilante CJTF.
