Homicide : Police arrest three murder suspects over domestic violence in Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested mother and her son for allegedly killing her co-wife married to same husband over domestic related issues.
Police Public relations officer of the command,SP Suleiman Nguroje made the disclosure in a press release issued in Yola Wednesday stressing that, the alleged murder offence was committed as a result of domestic violence which occured between two wives in pallam district of Madagali local Government Area.
Nguroje explained that, Preliminary investigation reveals that a physical confrontation erupted between two co-wives, Rhoda Anthony, aged 55, and Victoria Anthony, aged 36, both married to one Anthony Pallam which turned violent between the two.
Nguroje added that, during the altercation, Victoria’s son, Ijai Anthony, aged 16, reportedly struck his stepmother, Rhoda Anthony, on the head with a piece of wood, causing her to collapsed, and that, upon receiving the r
Complain, the Divisional Police officer(DPO) in charge of Madagali police division Promptly mobilised to the scene and rushed the victim to Cottage Hospital Madagali, and was confirmed dead while receiving treatment.
He stated that, the suspect and his mother have been taken into protective custody as investigation progresses.
According to the release, another murder suspect was arrested in Fotta District, in Gombi LGA for the killing of his biological father with knife following a domestic altercation between them.
“The Command received a distress report, that one Idi Buba attacked his biological father, Buba Jelli by stabbing him on the neck and back with a knife, following a domestic altercation,
“The victim was immediately rushed to the Primary Health Care Center in Fotta, where he sadly died while receiving treatment.
“The suspect was arrested at the scene, and the knife used in the attack has also been recovered and will be treated as an exhibit as Commissioner of Police,CP Dankombo Morris, strongly condemns these heinous acts of violence, especially those involving family members”.The statement maintained
While assuring the public that the three suspects will be charged to court after investigation, Morris call on all residents to exercise restraint,and avoid taking laws in to their hands, and seek peaceful means in resolving conflicts.
