I regretted some of my decisions – Buhari
By Hussaini Ibrahim Sulaiman, Kano
The immediate past President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has regretted some of his actions taken while in office and felt he could done something better.
The former President’s media aide, Femi Adesina, asserted while speaking at a programme tagged ‘Media Dialogue with Femi Adesina’, organised by the Association of Veteran Journalists in Osun State.
He said: “Before Buhari left office I had a two-hour chat with him, during which he asked all manner of questions.
“There is no living human being that will not regret certain things. It is one of the questions I asked the President.
“Before we left office, I sat with him for about two hours and I asked him every question under the sun; there was no question I didn’t ask him. There were things he (Buhari) felt could have been done better,” Mr Adesina said.
He, however, stressed that some of the former president’s policies were taken with good intentions to ameliorate the hardships of the people in the country.
He cited the naira design policy, arguing that the policy had helped in reducing the rampant kidnapping in the northwest and equally contributed to the 2023 general elections which he described as the fairest elections.
