Illicit Drug Awareness: About 10 governments and NGOs Join NDLEA March In Adamawa

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Adamawa state branch, conducted a campaign March to inform the public about the effects of drug abuse on human health in the state.
The campaign conducted by the agency on Saturday in Yola, was attended by government organizations and non-governmental Organizations NGOs, the agency conducted the march to mark the World Day against Drug Abuse and Trafficking Illicit declared by the United Nations.
Speaking at the event the commander of the NDLEA in the state, Agboalu Femi Samson, who led the march, said that the awareness campaign is part of the plans that the commission has prepared for a week, with the aim of reaching out to the public.
He said the effects of drug abuse are obvious, so the head of the NDLEA, Brig General Muhammadu Buba Marwa (rtd), is warning the public to avoid dealing with drugs like Cannabis Sativa, Cocaine, Tramadol, Exol-5, Diazepam tablets, Codeine-based syrup, Rohypnol tablets, and Pentazocine injections and others.
Also speaking on behalf of the governor of the state, the commissioner of the ministry for Reconstruction rehabilitation and Hammernatrial services Bello Hammandaram, said that the governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, ordered him to assure the board and other stakeholders, that the government at all levels is with the Commission in the fight against illegal drugs.
He said that the state government has not folded its hands, it is doing what it needs to stop the activities and the spread of drug trafficking and drug abuse in order to save the lives of the people in the state
