Kaduna Ex-Governor Mukhtar Yero Defects PDP
By Musa Musa, Kaduna
A former Kaduna State governor, Mukhtar Yero, on Saturday resigned his membership from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
This was contained in a letter issued to the party’s chairman of Kaura ward in the state on Saturday.
The letter reads: “With gratitude to Almighty Allah, I write to extend my sincere greetings and to formally inform you of my decision to leave the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
“Given this, I hereby tender my resignation as a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) with effect from 30 September 2023. Enclosed herewith, is my Party Membership card duly returned,” the former governor wrote in the letter.
The resignation of Yero, who was the governor of Kaduna State from 2012 to 2915, came days ago, after Mike Onolememen, a former minister of works, had also resigned his membership from the party.
The ex-minister cited protracted internal conflict as his reason for dumping the party to Micheal Eromonsele, chairman of the PDP Esan north-east LGA’s ward 4, Onolememen
