Kano Hisbah To Marry Off Controversial TikToker Murja Kunya, Others
By Hussaini Ibrahim, Kano
The Kano Hisbah, led by Sheikh Aminu Daurawa, has announced plans to facilitate weddings for TikTokers in Kano, as well as support for their economic ventures.
This project was announced at a meeting called by the Hisbah to advise TikTokers on how to improve their moral standards.
Murja Ibrahim Kunya, a TikToker known for her inflammatory content that frequently sparks debate in Kano State, and other popular tiktokers were invited to the Kano State Hisbah Command’s headquarters on Monday, November 6th, 2023, at 4 p.m. for prospective rehabilitation.
Dr. Mujahid Aminuddeen, Deputy Commander-General of Hisbah, advised guests to bring their educational and business certificates while hiding their faces to protect their identities.
The primary goal of this gathering is to provide assistance to people who wish to receive assistance from the state’s governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf.
The Tiktokers turned out in force, dressed in full traditional attire and concealing their faces with Niqabs.
Sheikh Aminu Daurawa, the Commander-General of Hisbah Board, said during the scheme’s unveiling, “We are willing to give you all the necessary support to live a sustainable life; those of you who have fiancees or are interested in marriage, we promise to organize a grand wedding and take responsibility for all the expenses.”
He also counselled Murja Kunya, a popular TikTok user, and others in attendance on how to enhance their morale.
Sheikh Daurawa stated that any TikTok users who require capital assistance should prepare a business plan and submit it to the Hisbah board; if the Hisbah board is happy with the material supplied, the Kano government will provide cash assistance.
This effort, approved by Kano Governor Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf, is intended to help youth in the region and encourage moral growth.
The TikTokers accepted the offer and began conversations with senior authorities of the morality enforcers.
The morality police paid N2,000 bus tickets to TikTok participants in these conversations to indicate their support for this endeavour.
This unexpected collaboration between TikTokers and the Kano morality police is a one-of-a-kind and unexpected gesture aimed at empowering kids and improving moral standards within the local TikTok community.
