Kumbotso LG Chairman unveils Kumbotso Stars Academy

Kumbotso Local Government Chairman, Hon. Dr. Kabiru Yusuf has on Friday, May 3, 2024 formally launched Kumbotso Stars Academy as part of his plans to promote professional football in the local government area.
Unveiling the Kumbotso Stars Academy, at the local government secretariat, the chairman said the Academy will groom the next generation of stars in the LGA and the state at large.
He said: “This academy will allow the early discovery and harnessing of football talents in Kambotao local government,” Dr. Yusuf.
According the chairman. Kombotao is the first LGA in state to commissioned such academy among other 44 local government areas of the state, adding that the Academy will help the youths to excel not only in the football profession but also to change their mindset and help them to become role models in society.
The chairman noted that sport is one of the models use to help young people stay off crime.
For a start, he said, the target number of players to be recruited into the academy at the moment is 32 players ranging from the 3 geopolitical zone of the local government.
Earlier speaking, the Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Mustapha Rabi’u Kwankwaso, who was represented by the Special Adviser on Youths Affairs to the governor, Yusuf Imam also known as Ogan Boye, said that the NNPP-led administration is committed to providing a congenial atmosphere for youths to blossom and actualize their objectives.
He thanked the chairman and all the stakeholders at various levels for attending the ceremony, believing that they would find the Kumbotso youths worthy of being invited into the national team trial.
