MAU Yola holds 29th & 30th Combined Convocation, graduate 7,094 students.

The Modibbo Adama University, Yola is set to holds a combined Convocation for a total of 7,094 graduands from the 2023/2024 a academic sessions on Saturday, January 31st 2026.

Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Ibrahim Umar made the disclosure at a press conference in Yola Tuesday saying that, the 29th and 30th Convocation Ceremony will take place at the Convocation Square on the main campus.

Professor Umar announced that the 2023/2024 academic session will produce 2,034 first-degree graduands, including 55 with First Class honours, 599 with Second Class Upper, 1,047 with Second Class Lower, 330 with Third Class, and three (3) with Pass degrees.

The 2024/2025 session will add another 3,673 first-degree graduands, comprising 61 First Class, 1,199 Second Class Upper, 1,931 Second Class Lower, 479 Third Class, and three (3) Pass degrees.

The combined total includes 5,707 undergraduate degrees, 454 certificates and diplomas, and 933 postgraduate degrees.

In a significant development, the university has secured approval for 20 new academic programmes from the National Universities Commission (NUC), ready for immediate launch. These include Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Data Science, Forensic Science, Journalism, Media Studies etc. said the Vice Chancellor.

The university is also awaiting NUC accreditation for its Departments of Banking and Finance, Civil Engineering, Building, and Business Education, following an assessment in November 2025.

Professor Umar highlighted the university’s achievements, including clearing staff allowances, introducing interest-free loans, and providing burial financial support for families of staff who die in service.

“The convocation will be preceded by a public lecture on “Building Trust Amidst Conflict Communication, Leadership and the Promise of Peaceful Coexistence in Nigeria” on January 30th, 2026, to be delivered by Prof. Umaru A. Pate, the Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Kashere, Gombe State”.The Vice Chancellor revealed.
