MGM Foundation Takes Mental Health Awareness To Nassarawo GDSS

MGM Foundation has taken Mental Health Awareness campaign to secondary schools in Adamawa State for students to understanding some key aspects of mental well-being, stress management, and coping strategies.
According to the Foundation’s founder, Mohammed Gidado Mohammed, the activity is aimed at educating secondary school students on mental health, emotional resilience, and stress management; destigmatize mental health issues through open discussions and awareness-building activities and equipping students with practical coping mechanisms to improve their overall well-being
Wilson Ishaku, a psychiatrist nurse is the resource person for the MGM Foundation sensitisation in Nassarawo government day secondary school, Jimeta, Yola North local government area, he taught the students how not to go into depression that would result in losing their life; how to identify a student in deep depression and help by replying the case to school management or the parents for quick remedy.
Ishaku cautioned the students against, drugs, joining bad company and indiscipline, he encouraged them on morality, respect for parents and constituted authority, to be of good conduct and remain firm in their faith against evil distractions.
MGM foundation is a nongovernmental organisation established as a social responsibility to empower the students, youth, women, the aged and the less privileged.
MGM Foundation has had interventions in education, healthcare and agriculture by means of empowerment programme and in the area of skills acquisitions programmed
The principal of the school, Mrs Esther Samuel, the vice principal, Mrs Orphan Nathaniel and the chairman, School-Based Management Committee (SBMC) – a voluntary group of people who work together to improve schools and their communities – Mal. Abbas Sali, in their separate remarks, commended MGM for the social responsibility and for finding Nassarawo GDSS among the beneficiary schools.
