Minimum Wage: Yobe NLC Expresses Confidence in Gov. Buni’s Approval, Cautions Against Fake News
By Yusuf Ali
The Yobe State Chapter of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has expressed optimism in the consideration and approval of the minimum wage by Governor Mai
Mala Buni CON in order to benefit both workers and the serving administration.
This was made known by the Chairman NLC Yobe State, Comrade Muktari Musa Tarbutu while reacting to a malicious and fabricated circular on social media platforms calling Yobe State civil servants to embark on a state wide strike.
The state NLC Chairman said the fake news/circular is entirely false and without any basis.
He recalled that the joint committee between the government and NLC has concluded its Negotiation on the New Minimum wage and the report has since been forwarded to Governor Mai Mala Buni CON for his consideration and approval.
The NLC Chairman called on all civil servants in Yobe to disregard the purported circular and continue with their normal works and activities.
He urged the Yobe State civil servants and general public to be cautious of fake News and circulars, and always verify information through credible source before sharing.
Comrade Tarbutu noted that, Yobe State NLC remains committed to promoting and protecting the rights and interests of Yobe State workers.
