NEDC commends Gov Buni for support in Yobe projects
By Hussaini Ibrahim
DAMATURU, NIGERIA — The North East Development Commission (NEDC) has again commended Governor Mai Mala Buni for his continued support and collaboration in advancing developmental projects across Yobe State.
The Managing Director of the Commission, Mohammed Goni Alkali, gave the commendation during an inspection visit to the recently completed two-span, 30-metre bridge in Gujba Local Government Area of the state.
The bridge, reconstructed by Greland Multiple Investment Company Limited, replaced a previous structure that was destroyed by flooding last year, restoring connectivity for residents and commuters in the area.
Alkali said the successful completion of the project was made possible through the strong partnership between the Commission and the Yobe State Government.
“We commend Governor Mai Mala Buni for his unwavering support and commitment to the development of Yobe State,” he said. “His administration’s collaboration with the Commission has greatly facilitated the timely execution of critical infrastructure projects.”
He noted that the bridge would ease movement, improve access to farmlands and markets, and enhance socio-economic activities in Gujba and adjoining communities.
Residents expressed appreciation for the intervention, describing the reconstruction as a major relief after months of transportation challenges caused by the flood damage.
The NEDC Managing Director reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to sustaining developmental efforts across the North-East region through strategic partnerships with state governments.
