NEDC to partner Al-Ansar University, Radio, television on research,, health education, youth empowerment

The Northeast Development Commission (NEDC) is to collaborate with the Al-Ansar University and Al-Ansar Radio and television on research, education, entrepreneurship, youth development and enlightenment.
The MD NEDC, Alhaji Goni Alkali stated this when the Management of the Al-Ansar University and Al-Ansar Radio and television paid him a courtesy call at the headquarters of the NEDC in Maiduguri on Wednesday.
Alhaji Alkali said ” we are going to partner with the university on research, especially how to improve the use of solar powered Electrical Tricycles, taxis and buses, scholarship, entrepreneurship and youth development. We’re to going sign a Memoradum of Understanding (MOU) on how to partner”.
He said ” Boko Haram insurgency has drawn back the Northeast region educationally, so very soon we are going to roll scholarship and entrepreneurship programmes and we will see how to partner with you.
“I want to commend Al-Ansar University for having 29 programmes within just two years of it’s establishment. You are the first private university in Borno state, we are proud of you”, the MD said.
On the Al-Ansar Radio and television, Alhaji Goni Alkali said the commission will roll out programmes on air to enlightened people on climate change, global warming, health and other challenges.
He directed both managements of the University, Radio and Television to write their proposals to the commission and see how they can work together.
Earlier, the Vice Chancellor of the Al-Ansar University, Prof Abubakar Musa said the university was established in the year 2022 to give quality and affordable education to the people of area.
“The university was established in 2022 and now 29 programmes in four faculties and our MBBS students are in their second year and we have signed MOU with several universities abroad, university of Michigan and others universities in the country”, the VC said
He therefore, solicitated for collaboration between the commission and the university.
Also, the General Manager of the Al-Ansar Radio and television, Mohammed Usman said the station is dedicating two hours programme for the MD to be featuring on the programmes in Hausa and Kanuri where people would have an opportunity to have one on one conversation with him on phone in programme on the projects and interventions of the commission..
