Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, Adamawa State chapter, has condemned the recent fire incident at the Specialist Hospital in Yola, Adamawa State.
The press release Saturday, issued by the state chairman of the NMA, Dr. Yunusa Dahiru Mohammed decried that the “recurring incidents suggest a deliberate attempt to undermine the efforts of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon Ahmadu Umar Fintiri, to enhance healthcare services in the state.
“We commiserate with the Governor and identify with him in this challenging time. These acts of sabotage not only hinder the progress in improving healthcare infrastructure but also jeopardize the health services as well as the well-being of the citizens who rely on these facilities.
“We urge the relevant authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into these incidents and take necessary measures to prevent future occurrences. We also call on the public to support the Governor’s efforts by reporting any suspicious activities that may compromise the state’s healthcare services and other state infrastructure.
“The Nigerian Medical Association stands in solidarity with the Governor and the people of Adamawa State, and we remain committed to supporting the Government’s efforts to provide quality healthcare services to all citizens of Adamawa state.
“The Nigerian Medical Association Adamawa State Chapter is ready to collaborate with the Adamawa State Government in improving the health services for the benefit of our citizens”.
