No amount of threat can stop me dealing with bandits – Gov Radda

..AUN graduates 207 in class of 2024.

Governor Umar Dikko Radda of Katsina state has expressed satisfaction with the successes recorded by the local security outfit in reducing the activities of bandits in his state.

Governor Radda made the disclosure in an interview with journalists in Yola weekend stressing that that the ‘Katsina Community watch’ established by his government in complimenting the effort of the conventional security outfits has graciously reduced banditry attacks by 60-70% forcing them to leave the terrories of his state unceremoniously.

Radda who was in Yola,the Adamawa state capital to attend the 15th graduation ceremony of class of 2024 students including his daughter in American University of Nigeria Yola said that his government based security experts advice sourced for the locals in their communities, trained and equipped them for countering the criminality been perpetrated by the bandits.

He dared the unrepentant bandits that no amount of threat or intimidation will stop his government from flushing the bad eggs out of Katsina state and it’s environs noting that new strategies are under way to tackle the bandits approach of attacking villages close to the forest and with difficult terrains in the state.

Earlier, President of American University of Nigeria Yola, Professor Dewayne Frazier congratulated the graduating students urging them to be good ambassadors of the institution wherever they may found themselves.

Professor Frazier stated that Nigeria and Africa need great leaders with requisite skills to lead this great nation and continent as they face their many challenges.

“At the AUN,we are training young people to assume these leadership positions while respecting the traditional, religious, and cultural heritage of Africa’s many communities.

In his remarks, the guest speaker at the ceremony, renowned constitutional lawyer and human rights activist, professor Mike Ozekhome lauded the foresight of the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar for erating such magnificent edifice for educational pursuit.

Ozekhome charged Nigerians to emulate the good virtues of our leaders with a view to repositioning all sectors to be a source rejoicing for all Nigerians as a people and as an entity.

Our Correspondent reported that Ozekhome was conferred with the AUN doctorial degree, doctor of humane letters (Honor is causa) as nine (9) graduates were awarded doctorial degrees,six (6) were awarded masters degree while 189 were presented with first degree certificates in different disciplines respectively.
