One Year Anniversary, Sallah TC Operation Hadin Kai, presents captured equipment recovered from insurgents to General Lagbaja

The theater Commander Northeast Operation Hadin Kai, Major General Haruna said the repair works has enhanced on the job training of 107 Division Equipment Support personnel”, the theater Commander added.

He said “. those captured and recovered platforms which have been refurbished by the Theatre and those repaired through Headquarters Nigerian Army Mechanical and Electrical Engineering would be re-issued to the Sectors to further improve their operational efficiency as well as the morale of the fighting units. Equally, the various projects commissioned today will further boost the confidence of our personnel and add to the anesthetics of Maimalari Military Cantonment.”.

“The displayed items highlighted the efficiency of our operational engagements through doggedness and bravery of the troops. The rescued individuals, surrendered women/children, neutralized JAS/ISWAP fighters and captured/recovered equipment and platforms are not mere symbols of victory but a significant representation of the sacrifices of our gallant troops across the Theatre.”, The theater Commander stressed.

He further explained that, some of these gallant officers/soldiers who were wounded in action during the various operations where these platforms were captured/recovered are attending this luncheon today. To the Wounded in Action, you have our utmost respect and commitment at ensuring your full recovery. We also pray that Almighty God continue to grant eternal rest to the souls of those that paid the supreme price during the various operations. ”

On the Eid-El-KABIR Sallah, the theater Commander said ” I wish to also use this privilege on behalf of the gallant troops of Operation HADIN KAI to felicitate with the Chief of Army Staff on attaining one highly productive year in the office, which is on 23 June 2024. Sir, your presence with us today is not only to mark the Eid-El-Kabir Celebration but to also mark the gradually winding down of dry season operations in the North East”.

Speaking in interview after the guided of the recovered equipment, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Taured Lagbaja said ” my visit to the headquarters theater Command, Operation Hadin Kai is to come and thank the troops for their wonderful performance at the Just concluded dry season Operation, Operation Desert Sanity, II, Mandara Mountain operation and Lake Sanity”

“My assessment on how well the troops perform was base on the reports I read at the Army headquarters, numbers of terrorists neutralized, victims rescued, weapons and equipment recovered, the COAS said

“The items displayed at the parade ground today, can attest to the quantum of equipment and weapons recovered and to even drive home the performance of the troops, most of these equipment were recovered in an unserviceable and very bad state, but the team of Nigerian Army Mechanical and Electrical Engineering team have come and put them back to serviceable condition and these equipment will be redeploy back to formations and units of the theater to enhance their operations”, he added.

On the Sallah luncheon with the wounded troops, General Lagbaja said it is part of Nigerian Army tradition and a way to come and say thank you to the troops on the front line and also felicitate with them during the festivity and to thank them for their sacrifices.

In vote of thanks, the Acting General Officer Commanding 7 Division (GOC), Brigadier General Abubakar Haruna said ” we thank the Chief of Defence and the Service Chiefs for their unwavering supports to JTF (North East) Operation HADIN KAI. The Chief of Army Staff Sir, your presence for this occasion despite your busy schedule underscores the importance you have attached to our operation and our general welfare as espouned in your Command philosophy.”.

He assured the COAS that the leadership of operation HADIN KAI is doing its best not to disappoint him, saying that “as you continue to provide us with all the needed supports. We shall continue to take the battle to the terrorists until the Theatre becomes free of any form of insurgency and terrorists activities.”.
