Ogan Boye vows to overhaul sports sector

The Special Adviser on Youths and Sports to the Governor of Kano State, Amb. Yusuf Imam popularly known as Ogan Boye has reiterated the relentless determination of his office to overhaul sports activities in the state.
The announcement was made on Tuesday while briefing journalists in his office on the achievements recorded and the strategic plan for the effective take-off of his duty since he assumed office.
He said: “When I assumed here in the office it’s almost ruined. The office was destroyed and thrown into the garbage by the immediate past capitalist government,” he chided.
According to him, the NNPP-led regime under Abba Kabir Yusuf will not heed the threats by unscrupulous elements who are bent on scuttling sports activities in the state.
Revealing the rationale behind the overhauling, Ogan Boye said sports activities in the state needed adequate measures to reposition it as it lacked numerous functionalities.
He cited the prevailing performance of the Kano Pillars which he revealed that the club needs broad hands of elites to transact to earn more sources of income for the club and equally serve as a training ground for young footballers.
The SA has further decried that most of the club’s players that make it to the world are not indigenous of the state adding that his office is working round the clock to obtain data of the youths of the state to make it easier for empowering them.
He unveiled that there are over 30 varieties of sports which are not practised, stressing if the governor is approve they’ll revive them and provide proper facilities.
