Peace building: team from Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger in Maiduguri to study

A study team from Burkina Faso, Mali Niger Republic and other research and peace building instructions were on Saturday in Maiduguri on a study mission of Borno Model of peace building with a view to replicate it in their various countries across the Sahel region for sustainable peace.
Addressing the team at the Government House, Maiduguri on Saturday, Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno state, Said there are about 300,000 repentant Boko Haram and their families that surrendered themselves and are under the custody of Borno state government..
Highting reasons why the the Borno Model was successful, Governor Zulum said ” the model succceds because there was a trust between the public and the government, the victims were also supported and resettled, in the areas, schools, health, access to agriculture, roburst military civil cooperation and use of local leaders and cleric and psychosocial training…
He commended the federal Government, the military cooperation, Operation Safe Corridor and Coordination among the stakeholders in the deraducation and reintegration process.
Earlier, the leader of the team, Brigadier General Yusuf Ali said they were in the state to study Borno model, it’s success and challenges with a view to replicate it in their various countries…
“We are first and famous here with a team from Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger to study Borno model Alliance for Sahel among other non Governmental organizations to study the midel ” Ali added..
Also, the Chief of Defense Staff, Special Adviser, Hon Aliyu Ibrahim said the team are non political , and had a team with the CDS, Office of National Security Adviser, among other agencies before coming to Maiduguri.
