Platoon 4 Emerges Winner of Inter-Platoon Drills Competition at Yobe Camp

The parade ground of the NYSC Yobe orientation camp reverberated with enthusiasm and unity of purpose as Corps members of the 2023 Batch ‘C’ Stream I orientation course participated in the inter-platoon drills competition. Each of the 10 platoons exhibited their precision and discipline in military drills.
In an opening remark the Camp Commandant, Capt. Abraham A underscored the vital role of drills in the military that it is meant to impact the sense of togetherness and teamwork amongst participants. He emphasized that beyond the competition, the drills activities is an indication of discipline in military.
The State Coordinator NYSC Yobe, Mrs Hafsat Yerima who was present encouraged the best three platoons with cash prize donations.
The event saw distinguished guests, including the representation of the 27 TaskForce Commander by Major SK Alkali, the Forward Operating Base Commander in Potiskum. Also present were the Camp Director, Mr. Mariga Bakah, and other senior course officials.
The results of the competition were: 4 platoon emerging 1st position, 10 platoon 2nd place, and 1 platoon with the 3rd place. The accolade for Best Parade Commander was awarded to the 9 Platoon parade commander.
8 platoon is the recipient of the long wooden spoon a title that amounts to the poorest performing award in the competition. The event however was a clear showcase of sportsmanship and healthy contest among the platoons.
