Police, Gov. Fintiri’s aide caution youths over planned protest in Adamawa.

The youths in Adamawa state have been caution not to allow themselves to be used for any unlawful gathering aim to achieve selfish interest.
Senior Special Assistant on peace and security to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Comrade Ahmad Lawan gave the advice through a press release issued on Monday stressing that the youth must ignore an alleged call by a faceless body for national protest especially today (Tuesday), that Nigeria is celebrating its 64th independence anniversary.
Lawan called for restrain advocating that, though Peaceful Protest is a constitutional right for Nigerians noted that any such action from the faceless protesters, whose identity could not be ascertained,should present themselves to the appropriate security agencies for scrutiny and permission.
Lawan stated that, the Faceless persons proposing the Act shouldn’t delve into any action that could be hijack by hoodlums with a view to destroy the beautiful Projects, Programmes and Policies of the governor Fintiri’s Administration in the state.
He therefore appealed to parents, Guardians, Religious Bodies to safeguard their Children, Wards and followers not to engage in the Proposed National Protest Organized by yet to be identified persons.
“The Condusive environment Created by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri through the life changing policies and Programs
especially on infrastructural facilities must not be allowed to be destroy in the name of protest.
“Likewise he was the first governor in Northern Nigeria to implement the national Minimum wage even before the template of the federal government was out “.Lawan asserted.
Similarly the Adamawa state police command has had an interface with critical stakeholders over the independence anniversary celebration warning youth against violent protest.
Spokesman of the Command,S.P Suleiman Nguroje in a press statement said that the interface was aimed at discouraging the planned protest by faceless group due to its consequences which may metamorphose in to violence.
“In preparation for the independence Celebration and to ensure effective policing service in the state, the Adamawa State Police Command interfaced with its Critical Stakeholders
“The planned nationwide protest has the potential to go wrong and be hijacked by miscreants. That is a fact and therefore any violent protest especially by unidentified persons is totally unacceptable.
‘On the strength of this therefore, the Command urges all Citizens and Residents of Adamawa State to go about their lawful business and shun anything that will lead to harming themselves and others in the name of protest”.The statement declared.
