Ramadan Fasting 2025 – A Time for Devotion, Patience, and Kindness
By Dr. Grema Kyari
Alhamdulillah! The blessed month of Ramadan is upon us once again, as the new moon has been sighted today. Tomorrow, Saturday, we begin our fasting, a time of immense spiritual reflection, patience, and closeness to Allah.
Ramadan is not just about abstaining from food and drink but about completely devoting ourselves to doing good. It is a time to cleanse our hearts, increase acts of worship, and strengthen our faith through prayer, charity, and kindness. Let us use this opportunity to increase our patience and perseverance, knowing that every difficulty we endure for the sake of Allah will bring us great rewards.
This holy month also teaches us the importance of tolerance, understanding, and compassion. As we fast, let us open our hearts to assist the orphans, widows, and the vulnerable in our communities. Let us be a source of hope and support for those in need, for indeed, the best of people are those who bring benefit to others.
As we begin this sacred journey, I also seek your forgiveness for any wrong I may have done to you, knowingly or unknowingly, directly or indirectly. May Allah forgive us all, guide our hearts to righteousness, and accept our fasts and prayers.
May this Ramadan bring us closer to Allah, purify our souls, and fill our lives with peace, blessings, and endless mercy, ameen ya rabbi.
