Re-IPAC appeals for postponement of Local government election in Yobe State

This is to notify the Yobe state government and the general public that the purported statement issued by Comrade Bala Mohammed doesn’t emanate from the secretariat of the IPAC in Yobe State.

At no point did the 17-member committee sit and issue any statement regarding the forthcoming local government election that was scheduled for November this year.

The local government elections have been slated for November and it must be held irrespective of what Bala Mohammed wants us to believe. There is no way the rainy season will disenfranchise the electorate from participating in the election because of farming. The elections will hold in less than 12 hour in a day and this exercise will not make the farmers to loose any thing rather than to exercise their rights as a citizen of their various local governments.

The function of IPAC among other things is to checkmate the excess of the government and offer constructive opposition when the government is going astray. We shall not allow IPAC to be used by a certain individual to derail democracy by issuing a statement that does not come from IPAC.

The State Political Party Chairmen of 12 out of the 18 registered political parties are hereby denounces and disassociated itself from the statement of the Bala Mohammed, we are ready to participate in the forthcoming local government elections slated for 25 November this year. We enjoying the public to ignore the communique issued by the Bala Mohammed and his cohort concerning the forthcoming local government elections in the state.

The Political Parties that are not aware of the purpoted press statement and are well and fully ready to participate in the forthcoming LGAs elections are:-

1. ADP
2. SDP
3. APGA
4. LP
5. AAC
6. ACCORD
7. NNPP
8. AA
